The Silver Wedding Dress
Tying the Knot in a Silver Wedding Dress
The common or traditional color of wedding dresses is white or a close shade of white (e.g., light cream, ivory and ecru). However, there are brides today who are choosing to go for something different -- like a silver wedding dress. A silver wedding dress gives the bride a lot of options, as silver has many different shades -- from soft gray to bright sining silver.
Some brides will have different reasons for choosing to wear a silver wedding dress on their weding day. A bride may choose silver as the color of her wedding dress simply because she has a fascination with the color or loves the color. Another bride may choose to don a silver wedding dress because the color is unique and she prefers not to wear the traditional white wedding dress. And still another bride may choose a silver wedding dress to match the motif of her wedding.
And yet another reason for a bride to wear a silver wedding dress is if she and her groom are renewing their vows after 25 years of marriage. The 25th wedding anniversary is regarded as the silver anniversary; it is thus very fitting for the bride to wear a silver wedding dress for this occasion.
The designs for a silver wedding dress can be limitless. Many brides might be going for that unique memory on their wedding day, and wearing a silver wedding dress is definitely a solution to that. Brides who are on the thin side or have a small frame are recommened to wear a shiny silver wedding dress. The shiny fabric and silvery color can give these brides the appearance of having a fuller body. Brides who are on the heavy side, however, should avoid shiny silver fabrics as they will only tend to look even heavier. Keep in mind, too, that a silver wedding dress could shine too much when the camera flashes.
Brides set on wearing a silver wedding dress may even wish to exercise before slipping into their wedding dress on their special day. The wedding day is a day most brides will remember for the rest of their lives. Some brides do not mind the extra work required to get the perfect picture.
