Colored Wedding Gowns Your Many Choices
Wearing Colored Wedding Gowns
White or off-white is stiill the common choice of brides-to-be when it comes to the color of their wedding gowns, but colored wedding gowns are also gaining wide acceptance in society today. In the past, only the bridesmaids could wear colored dresses, with the bride wearing a white or off-white wedding dress. The brides of today have much more choices when it comes to the color of their wedding gowns. No longer are they limited to choosing from an array of white or off-white wedding gowns, but they can also choose from a variety of colored wedding gowns.
Colored wedding gowns can be in one solid color or several colors. Solid colored wedding gowns are often accented by a few splashes of contrasting or complementing color. Solid colored wedding gowns are typically in the same style and design as traditional white wedding dresses; the difference, obviously, is that they are done in a different color instead of white or off-white.
Partially colored wedding gowns, on the other hand, typically have specific sections done in color. For instance, the bodice, sleeves or hem may be of a different color than the rest of the white or off-white wedding gown. Partially colored wedding gowns can also simply have waistbands done in a color other than white or off-whtie.
Colored wedding gowns tend to make for a more memorable wedding ceremony. Traditional white wedding gowns are usually easily forgettable, but colored wedding dresses tend to leave an impression in the minds of guests and other people involved in the weddign ceremony. If you're after a unique and memorable wedding gown, go with a colored one; it's bound to create a stir among your guests the minute you begin walking down the aisle. Colored wedding gowns are especially great for weddings that have a color motif. For instance, if your wedding's colored motif is burgundy, wear a burgundy colored wedding gown.
Colored wedding gowns can actually become the basis for all the other aspects of the wedding -- from the flowers, decorations, invitations and table settings. The resulting color coordination provides a wonderful photo opportunity. If you do decide to go with a colored wedding gown, make sure that the color of your bridesmaids' gowns is a little lighter (or subdued) than yours; you want attention on you, the bride, not on your bridesmaids.
Many wedding shops and retailers carry colored wedding gowns. If you can't find the colored wedding gown you want from these places, check online for more options.
